MetaLocator includes a setting that allows you to drag the map to change the center of the search. This feature allows the user to refine the search by panning around the map. Each time the user pans (drags) the map, the search is re-submitted, and new results are displayed. Enable Pan Search by clicking Interfaces > Your interface > Data Settings. Then set Enable Pan Search to Yes. When enabling pan search, be sure to:
- Map Settings: Map Vendor must be set to Leaflet/Mapbox.
- Set Map Settings > Show Empty Map to "yes". This ensures that the map will not disappear after a user drags to an area with no results.
- Consider using AutoFind to initially zoom the map around the user's location. Pan Search doesn't look very good when the map starts zoomed to contain a large geographic area.
- Do not enable the "Pan and Zoom Map Around Selected Location". This creates a "jumpy" interface as the map re-centers and re-searches.
